Autumn Snowflake

Yes, I know, why are we thinking about snowflakes in the middle of August?
Well, I wanted to share my other entry into the CGOA Design Competition.
Here it is:

"Autumn Snowflake"

It reminded me of an intricate snowflake and the colors reminded me of fall. In fact, the pretty coral color was also my wedding color.  I used the pretty Perle Cotton crochet thread and a small steel hook. (All of which I had found a long time ago on clearance!)  I had a basic idea of what I wanted the doily to look like but as I created it, I had to improvise the structure and amount of rounds.  I am pleased with how it turned out.
