Girls Pretty Poncho

Like the shrugs previously published on this blog, here is another project for little girls that we worked on in my latest Hooked on Crochet class (Gifts for Girls). This poncho was a hit since it looks so cute and can be completed very quickly. The pattern in from an old episode of Uncommon Threads. The women on the show explained the basic pattern that can be adjusted to fit any size. The shells are made from treble crochets and a large hook is used.

More Shrugs

Here is another shrug that I made for my daughter using the same pattern I created for my own coral shrug. Again I used Caron Simply Soft yarn in a turquoise color. It worked up quickly and looks great on my daughter.

Cafe Crochet a Success!

After several days a power outage in our area, it was such a treat to snuggle down at our crochet workshop, Cafe Crochet. We had coffee, muffins, tea, hot cocoa and moms and daughters ready to spend the morning together while learning something new.

We learned interesting facts about crocheting, made some jewelry and a pocketbook accessory and searched for small scale "yarn bombs" throughout the building.

We hope to have more Cafe Crochet fun in the spring!

Here is one of the "yarn graffiti" examples that greeted everyone who walked into our art center that day.
